Nature unveils redesign, expanded content in print and online

Nature, the international science publication, reveals a new look, clearer structure and navigation, and expanded content in the September 23 issue. Nature has been redesigned and enhanced in print and online to ensure that it remains a must-read for busy scientists.

“This week's issue demonstrates our commitment not only to sustaining Nature as a magazine, but also to renewing it,” the editors write in the September 23 issue. “In recent months, observant subscribers will have noticed small changes. Today we present a new look, a clearer structure, and new types of content. The online navigation, landing pages and information for authors have also been redesigned.”

For customers with site license access to Nature there should be no change to how users access Nature, and no interruption to service.

Quick snapshot of some of the changes online

  • redesigned Nature journal homepage providing users with:
    – new navigation bars at the top and to the right to allow for easier navigation of Nature’s content online
    – a news carousel making it easy to browse the latest daily news, features and opinion pieces – updated as and when news goes live
    – Research articles highlighted showing the latest 16 published articles as they appear online
  • a News & Comment page, which replaces Nature News and includes news, news features, the news blog, editorials and opinion
  • a new research article landing page allowing readers to browse Nature articles by subject or article type
